Three days and two nights gives you more room than a one-night trip, but it also makes overplanning tempting. Shenzhen works best with one main hotel base and one separate day for a more distant theme.

Choose Futian for flexibility across central districts.
Choose Nanshan when Shenzhen Bay and the western theme parks are the main route.
Choose Shekou for a slower trip with easy evenings.
Only move to the eastern coast for a night when beaches, Yantian, or Dapeng are a central purpose—not as a small add-on.

Use one day for central Shenzhen, one for Nanshan or Shenzhen Bay, and one for Huaqiangbei, Luohu, or a museum. Futian is also practical when business meetings are mixed into the trip.

Should you spend one night on the eastern coast?
If a city waterfront is enough, stay at your main base and visit Shenzhen Bay. If Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, Yantian, Jiaochangwei, or Dapeng is one of the trip’s main goals, an eastern stay can reduce a long same-day return. Moving hotels also costs time, so do it only when the coast deserves most of a day or more.
Keep one main base for most of the trip. Treat a distant beach or Dapeng as a separate day, and change hotels only when that destination is important enough to justify packing and transferring.
